Sudanese Embassy in Tokyo Discusses Reconstruction of the Health Sector with Japanese Companies
His Excellency Ambassador Elrayih Hyduob, the Sudanese Ambassador to Japan, received a joint delegation from Matsuda Corporation and Konikei Construction at the embassy in Tokyo on Thursday, November 27. The delegation was headed by Mr. Mitsuhiro Shimada, President of Matsuda Corporation, and Mr. Yoshiki Iwai, General Manager of the Business Administration Division at Konikei Construction, along with several other members. The embassy’s advisor, Ali Mohamed Ahmed Osman, also attended the meeting.
The delegation expressed their keen interest in actively participating in the reconstruction of Sudan’s health sector, which suffered extensive damage as a result of the egregious violations committed by rebel militias. Their top priority is the rehabilitation of Ibn Sina Hospital, which was established with generous support from Japan. This initiative, through the Japanese government’s development assistance programs, aims to strengthen the capacities of developing countries, particularly in Africa.
It was agreed at the meeting to hold a joint virtual meeting in the coming days between the two companies and specialists from the Federal Ministry of Health, with the participation of the embassy, to develop a joint action plan to attract Japanese support for the reconstruction of the health sector affected by the war.
