Hamdouk: New Government Formed by Consensus to Prevent Collapse

Khartoum, Feb. 8 (SUNA) – The Prime Minister, Dr. Abdalla Hamdouk, pointed out that the new cabinet formation was based on a political consensus and discussions that lasted for three months with the aim to prevent collapse in Sudan, taking into consideration the pending regional threats.

At the press conference held Monday to announce formation of the new government, the Prime Minister affirmed the adherence to the Sudanese model for protecting the country from collapse despite problems and difficulties.

He pledged to move forward with the realistic alliance to lead Sudan to safety, pointing out that there is no alliance without obstacles, referring in this regard to the participation of the components of the Forces of Freedom and Change, the military component and peace partners in the new government.

Dr. Hamdouk stressed the importance of expediting formation of the Legislative Assembly on February 25, according to the approved matrix, in order to fortify the transitional period and to contribute effectively to addressing the challenges.;
