Ambassador Al-Rayih Hyduob, Ambassador of the Republic of Sudan to Japan, held talks with Mr. Konosuke Kokuba, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Japanese Parliament and a prominent leader of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, in the presence of Mr. Ali Mohamed Ahmed, Deputy Head of Mission.
The discussions came within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries, as both sides explored ways to enhance cooperation and reviewed the latest developments in Sudan.
Ambassador Haidoub praised Japan’s continued development and humanitarian support, expressing Sudan’s readiness to participate in upcoming Japanese events, including the International Horticultural Expo to be held in Yokohama in 2027.
He also briefed the Japanese side on the current situation in Sudan, referring to violations committed by the Rapid Support Forces militia and the damage to infrastructure, while affirming that the Sudanese Armed Forces control most of the territory and are working to liberate the remaining areas.
The Ambassador emphasized the important role Japan can play in Sudan’s reconstruction, benefiting from its extensive experience, and highlighted promising investment opportunities for Japanese companies in the country.
For his part, Mr. Kokuba expressed his appreciation for Sudanese civilization and the historical ties between the two nations, and affirmed his support for strengthening cooperation and removing obstacles to Japanese investment in Sudan.
